If you love cute prints, organic cotton, and high-quality baby clothes, you’ll feel right at home here.

Hi! My name is Sanne and I am the owner of Indie June.

I guess you’re here because you want to know a bit about me, right? I am not that good at talking about myself, but I’ll give it a try and add some pictures.

I am from the Netherlands and live in Dubai with my husband James, and my kids Emmett (5) and Indie (3). These two are energetic little creatures, but so much fun.

The business is named after my daughter Indie. Considering the amount of prototypes she has tried for me in the last year or so, she definitely deserved this.

When I am not busy sewing or talking to you at one of the markets, I enjoy the outdoors, spending time away from the city, and having a bbq in the desert.

When picking out a pair of leggings or a cute dress for your little one, the style and fit are the obvious attributes you focus on. But the materials that our clothes are made from are important too. Most of us know about the health benefits of buying organic food, but what about organic materials in fashion?

Organic cotton is grown in a way that uses methods and materials that lessen the impact on our environment. Organic cotton not only uses far less water, but big efforts are made to use growing systems that maintain and replenish soil fertility, and build biologically diverse agriculture.

The main benefit of organic materials, however, is that the crops are not treated with pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). These toxins are harmful for farmers and workers, for us as consumers, and for wildlife eco-systems.

Baby skin is more delicate and sensitive. Babies have a higher ratio of skin surface area to body volume, and their skin is thinner than adults’ too. This means that babies are more open to absorbing harmful additives and synthetic chemicals used on large-scale commercially produced fabrics.

All fabrics used for our clothes are certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), meaning they are made with strict toxic regulations, GM-free, and using organic cotton. Also, farmers and workers get a fair deal, and factory conditions are better. We want our products to be ethical and sustainable.

When you choose to buy something from Indie June you not only get the best quality clothes for your little ones, you also support a small business, a creative process, and you are being a little nicer to mother earth.
